Day 1: Athens
Meet/assist at the Athens airport. Transfer to your hotel in Athens. Overnight in Athens.
Day 2:Athens – Olympia
In the morning proceed with a visit in Olympia. The area of Olympia and the site of the sanctuary were recognized throughout Greece as a paramount religious center. The first Olympiad was held in 776 BC, which also marks the beginning of historical times for Greek Antiquity. There you will visit the Olympia Archaeological museum. Overnight in Olympia.
Day 3: Olympia - Delphi
Morning departure via the Rio-Antirio crossing to Naupaktos and arrival in the evening in Delphi. Overnight in Delphi.
Day 4: Delphi
After the breakfast, departure for tour in Delphi, the navel of the earth and a UNESCO world Heritage Site. Visit of the Apollo Temple in Delphi, the sanctuary of Apollo with the Treasuries, the temples and the perivolos (enclosure) which lie on the south spur of Mt. Parnassos. At the centre of the Sanctuary the Doric temple of Apollo, dominates. The sacred way leads to the temple and is lined with Treasuries, monuments and offerings. Norhtwest from the temple, is the theatre where the Delphic festival was held. Further up, is the stadium where Pythian games took place every 4 years. There you will enter the Delphi Museum. Overnight in Delphi.
Day 5: Delphi - Kalambaka
After breakfast departure towards Kalambaka. Before Kalambaka, some quick photo stops in Amphissa, Lamia, Trikala, (no places to visit). Arrival and overnight in Kalambaka.
Day 6: Kalambaka - Athens
After breakfast, depart for a visit to Meteora, a unique natural phenomenon. 24 perpendicular rocks on which, 600 years ago, Byzantine monks chose to worship God and built there, their monastic community. How these monasteries were built is a subject of fascination for pilgrims and visitor alike. Usually, you can enter 2 monasteries, depending on which are open. Whichever you decide, you should not miss the Megalo Meteoron, Aghios Varlaam and Aghios Stefanos. Stop for photos and tour. Then, departure for Athens. On the way to Athens we pass from Thermopylae where you may see the statue of famous Leonidas who was killed along with his famous 300 Spartiates. We will also pass though Kamema Vourla, another city for a brief stiop. Arrival and overnight in Athens.
Day 7: Athens
A detailed visit of the Acropolis, the Propylea, the Erechteum, the Parthenon, the Agora. Next proceed to the Olympic Stadium, the Temple of Zeus and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Overnight in Athens.
Day 8: Athens – Cape Sounion - Athens
Morning free. Noon half-day tour in Cape Sounion. The temple of Posseidon standing at 60m/200 feet above the sea at the edge of a cliff on Cape Sounio, is one of the most breathtaking and deeply moving sights around Greece. The temple is an hour's drive from central Athens and both the site itself and the route leading to it are worth every minute of the drive. The road runs along the Saronic coast and from the window you can enjoy the endless and brilliant blue sea. Overnight in Athens.
Day 9: Departure
After breakfast, transfer to the airport to depart.
