The Wine Route of Macedonia
Macedonia (norhtern Greece) is considered to be one of the top wine producing areas in the country. The wineries we have chosen are among the best in northern Greece.

Day 1: Athens - Meteora – Naoussa530km / 7 hours
Drive through Thermopylae to Atalanti (Nat. Rd. Athens-Lamia) to visit the “Chatzimichalis” Winery. Wine testing. Depart to Kalambaka. Lunch at a local restaurant. Visit breathtaking Meteora Monasteries, which seem to be suspended in mid-air, where you can see exquisite specimens of Byzantine Art. Depart to Naoussa. Dinner and overnight at 3* hotel.

Day 2: Naoussa - Vergina - Naoussa90km / 1.5 hours
In the morning visit the Macedonian Tombs and the “Vergina Treasures” at Vergina. Lunch at local restaurant. In the afternoon visit the “Boutari” Winery in Stenimacho Naoussa, where the famous Naoussa wine is produced. Proceed to Vermio and visit “Panagia Soumela”. Dinner and overnight at 3* hotel.

Day 3: Thessaloniki - Chalkidiki- Thessaloniki170km / 2.5 hours
Morning departure to Thessaloniki, capital of northern Greece. City tour. Visit the White Tower, the Triumphal Arch of Gallerius and the museum where the Vergina Treasures are exposed. Lunch. Depart to Chalkidiki and visit the “Gerovassiliou Estate”. Wine tasting. Then proceed for a visit to “Tsantali Estate” in the same area. Wine tasting. After the visits return to Thessaloniki. Dinner and overnight at 4* hotel.

Day 4: Thessaloniki - Dion - Athens530km / 6 hours
After breakfast depart to visit for the famous sacred Macedonian town of Dion. Proceed to “Domain Katsaros” on Mount Olympus. Wine tasting. Following the visit, depart for Athens, through the Tempi Valley.
